Spark
Ok. I believe everyone has got a spark(for lack of a better word) in their lives. That one thing/person that makes it all complete for them. That one thing/person that will make them feel sad, guilty and happy all in one moment. Some find it in their friendships, some in their work, others as they gaze into the eyes of their loved ones, some by just looking at their children.
A lack of this something in their lives will result into bad days(especially weekends), restlessness and sometimes sickness in its extremity. This begs the question?? Isn’t this spark then dangerous?? I mean we have seen experiences where people die because they are lovelorn or maybe the kids have move out of home.
Now let me tell you about my spark. Unfortunately or fortunately, its not a girl or a child or work. No, mine is a team, a football team. This team knows how to spoil a perfectly good weekend, the times when they are utter rubbish. This team as far as am concerned is the only known factor in my life that can make me sad, guilty and happy all in the space of 2 hours. They are probably the most annoying thing in my life and yet i still love them anyhow. I’ll try my best not to miss a single match even when i know we are going to lose. They are the number one cause of bad weekends for me. And i have not had a good weekend in a while, almost 5 weeks. This has been the worst month for me this year, and it coincided with my team’s worst month as well. Amidst all the terrible issues i had to deal with this month, i always had hope that i would at least have a satisfying weekend owing to the fact that my team won, but where. For the last 5 or so weeks i have had to deal with my beloved team not winning on top of all that other stuff that was going on, man, hell just. But at least this time round, i believe am hardened or grown up enough not to fall sick. When i was younger, about 8 years ago, i fell sick simply because we were utterly. thrashed.
Oh, we had to deal with lots of bad luck as well, i mean, injuries and suspensions. One guy was out injured with a stretched bollock, can u imagine. So today i walk into my favorite kibanda, and they are not showing, bad luck i thought, i had never lost a match from here. Fate dictates that i have to watch it elsewhere, and who am i to argue. To cut it all short, by the time we went in for half time, we were 2nil down, ten men down and playing utterly rubbish football. For the first time , i almost walked out on them. I was sad and angry.
Come second half and the opposition just won’t relent. Guys were all over us like flies in a latrine. Moments later, after what seemed like an eternity, and a couple of brave substitutions later, we were level and i had forgiven my team for whatever misdemeanour they had committed. I was happy. To cut another long story short, we managed to scrape through for our first victory in 6 games. I am elated. The spark is finally back.
Thanks to Arsenal, i am going to have a splendid weekend, no doubt about that, and maybe i might even have a good week.
